Beowulf International Trailer

July 30, 2007

Very similar to the trailer shown at the San Diego Comic Con, the Beowulf International Trailer is now out. It shows a little bit more of Angelina Jolie’s Grendel character…if you know what I mean.

Flight of the Conchords EP & Album!

July 30, 2007

Flight of the Conchords, the New Zealand musical duo who debuted their new HBO series on June 17th, have a five song EP coming out August 7th in preparation for their full album release due sometime in October.

Flight of the Conchords EP

The songs on the EP will be recognizable by any Flight fan:

  • 1) Business Time
  • 2) If You’re Into It
  • 3) Crying
  • 4) Beautiful Girl (live)
  • 5) Robots (live)
  • If you haven’t seen the show yet, I highly recommend it. Take Tenacious D, but with a more subtle, awkward and less in-your-face kind of humor that parodies all styles of music, not just rock and metal, and you’ve got Flight of the Conchords.

For a taste, simply do a quick youtube search for ‘flight of the conchords’.

30 Days of Night Red Band Trailer & Clip!

    July 30, 2007

30 Days of Night, the groundbreaking graphic novel that follows an Alaskan town where night last for a whole month and its inevitable attack by vampires, is being made into a feature film starring Josh Hartnett (Lucky Number Slevin) and Melissa George (The Amityville Horror) and directed by David Slade (Hard Candy; excellent if you haven’t seen it yet).

All the stuff I’ve seen on it so far (posters, photos, etc) has been pretty cool, but today comes the “Red Band” or R-rated trailer for the gory adaptation, along with an exclusive clip at the end of it!

Provided you’re of age, check it out here.

The Sopranos Season 6, Part 2

    July 30, 2007

Why do all HBO DVDs release the second half of the final season separate from the first half? I know they have staggered seasons, but shouldn’t they do it for every season then? Anyway, the second half of The Sopranos sixth and final season will release on October 23rd. Here’s a look at the cover art:

    Sopranos S62 DVD

Buyer beware! With an October release announced, it’d make a lot of marketing sense to release to have the full series DVD set come out before the holidays, sometime in late November or early December. Just a prediction on my part mind you, but it’s happened in the past.

    July 30, 2007

In an interview with Shocktillyoudrop.com during the San Diego Comic Con, director Neil Marshall touched on the development of the sequel to his landmark horror film The Descent.

He won’t be writing or directing, but he’s working avidly with producers tossing around various story ideas, one of which I have for you here.

Spoilers are included, so read on at your own risk.

    Joss Whedon’s Ripper!

    July 30, 2007

At his Comic Con panel promoting the upcoming DVD Collector’s Edition release of Serenity, Joss Whedon talked a bit about his next project.

As most know, since his separation from the Wonder Woman movie, he’s been hard at work on Buffy: The Vampire Slayer Season 8 in comic book form. It now seems that he’ll continue to pursue that universe for his next project which will happen with the BBC.

    “I will be filming RIPPER.”

For those that don’t know, Ripper was the nickname of Buffy’s watcher Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) when he was a young troublemaker/badass. Not much else was revealed, but a series exploring Giles’ past would certainly make a lot of Buffy fans, myself included, very happy.

    Edward Norton Wrote Hulk!

    July 29, 2007

At Marvel’s Comic Con panel, Edward Norton had some pretty incredible news for everyone:

“I came into this and I wrote the screenplay,” revealed Norton. “I was the Marvel kid. I had subscriptions to a lot of the marvel comics. I loved Hulk, the early incarnation of Hulk and than the television show when I was a kid.”

Edward Norton writes!? Since when? But seriously, if I had any doubt how cool this guy was, it’s gone now. Check out the rest of the story at Slashfilm.
