The Fountain Commentary and Explanation

September 19, 2007

Many fans hesitated to buy the DVD of Darren Aronofsky’s The Fountain because it lacked many of the features that they expected, especially an audio commentary. The DVD release, it seems, is as plagued with problems as the production itself was.

Now, however, in an increasing trend, Mr. Aronofsky has released his own commentary track online at his website.

In related news, Roger Ebert has been reviewing movies that he missed while he was incapacitated over the last year. While he didn’t particularly love The Fountain, his review is certainly an interesting read.

In addition to that, Ebert points the way to a reader who wrote in with an explanation of the movie’s story, which, as those that have seen it know, is quite confusing. Definitely check that out if you’ve seen the flick.
