I’m not partial to downloading entire albums on iTunes. Not only do I like to own a physical copy of the album, but I always wind up getting screwed somehow when I do it. The only reason I get interested in buying them through iTunes is for the exclusives. In this case, they’re pretty hefty.
The new Smashing Pumpkins album, Zeitgeist, will be released on July 10th. That’s not news. However, if you pre-order it on iTunes, you receive the song “Doomsday Clock” off the album immediately. You’ll also receive the following Smashing Pumpkins covers:
“Rocket” by The Bravery
“Tonight Tonight” by Panic! at the Disco
“I am One” by +44
“Mayonaise” by The Academy Is…
“Ava Adore” by Test Your Reflex
As if all of this weren’t enough, pre-ordering will also give you a Ticketmaster password to get in on the Smashing Pumpkins ticket pre-sale for their upcoming tour.
Simply for the fact that I want to see them in Chicago, that last bit makes any online troubles through iTunes worth it.
